Discover the Area

The tourist destination “Montmagny et les Îles” is located to the east of the urban area of Quebec. From the Îsle aux Grues archipelago to the borders of the Maine forests, this region is rich in history and valuable natural environments. Montmagny et les Îles is located in the Chaudières-Appalaches region. This name refers to two important geographical features: the Chaudière, a river crossing the heart of Beauce, and the Appalachians, the legendary mountain range crossing from north to south the east of the North American continent.

The LUPO Wolf Sanctuary is located in the heart of the mountain range and in the heart of the Appalachian Park, faithful and silent witnesses to the history of the world. These mountains took shape 450 million years ago. The relief and hydrography of the Domaines bear witness to the folds which, during the glacial age, were sanded down and marked perpendicularly by the passage of rivers of ice which left glacial streaks. Located 110 kilometers south of Quebec City, LUPO is nestled in the heart of the forest, in a setting of mountains and cliffs. Intimate, it is in close relationship with an ecosystem dripping with greenery, moss and enchanting conifers, thus creating a rich, peaceful and oxygenated intertwining zone at the heart of the estate.

This 30 hectare estate of calm and forest is divided into a rich variety of areas, cohabiting harmoniously between lakes, streams, mountains, forest roads and resort potential. In fact, the domain brings together four main types of land use. Each of these typologies has its dimensional and landscape characteristics, all favoring an integration of the existing fauna and flora within a mixed vocation: Each element has been carefully implemented in close relation to the topography and its programmatic relationships to the natural landscape.

The LUPO Wolf Sanctuary is a precious place of beauty and wilderness in the Appalachian Park that must be discovered.
